Directions to Miramichi City from the U.S. or Upper Canada:

Do not follow any computer generated directions. They will put you on old, narrow, rough logging roads.

If you are coming from the U.S., get on Route 95 on the East Coast. Follow 95 through Maine and across the border to Woodstock, New Brunswick. At Woodstock, bear right on to Route 2 towards Fredericton (You’ll see signs). After about 1 – 1 1/2 hrs, near Fredericton, bear left on to Route 8 and head for Fredericton/Miramichi. (Follow the signs). You will cross the Saint John River on Route 8 going through Fredericton, then head to Miramichi City., again on Route 8 (Signs). This will take you about (2 – 2 1/2 hrs) or about 5 Moosehead Beer if somebody else is driving. Follow the signs and you’ll have no problems. If you get lost, pull over anywhere and ask for directions. Everybody this side of the border knows where Miramichi City is, and they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction. Important: Do not step outside your vehicle in uninhabited areas. Summer is feeding time for the Moose and they may mistake you for a meal.

If you are coming from Upper Canada, get on Route 20 from Montreal to Riviere-Du-Loup. There, merge to Route 185 and head for New Brunswick. At the New Brunswick border this changes to Route 2. After about 4 hrs, near Fredericton, bear left on to Route 8 and head for Fredericton/Miramichi. Everybody in New Brunswick knows where Miramichi City is, and they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction. It’ll take about 8-9 hours from Montreal to Fredericton.
